Learning to swim saves Lives!
Welcome to One 2 One Swim School!
We're a small, friendly swim school founded and run by Claire, a swimming teacher with over 30 years of experience teaching swimmers of all ages and abilities.
Claire has always believed that children learn best when they feel happy, safe and understood.
That's why we keep our approach personal.
Every swimmer is different, and our lessons reflect that. We take time to understand how each child learns, what makes them feel comfortable and what support they need to progress.
We don't believe children should feel pressured to keep up with a class or reach a skill before they're ready.
Instead, we use a child-led approach, combining patience, encouragement and achievable goals to build confidence naturally.
We celebrate the small steps as well as the big ones — because sometimes putting your face in the water, trying something new or simply feeling comfortable at the pool can be a huge achievement.
As confidence grows, skills follow.
One 2 One Swim School has particular experience supporting children who benefit from a more individual approach.
This includes children with autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, hearing impairments and other additional needs.
Lessons can be adapted around the individual child, including their communication, sensory needs, confidence and learning style.
Our aim isn't to make every child learn in the same way.
It's to find the way that helps your child learn.
Learning to swim is about far more than strokes and certificates.
It's about water safety, confidence, independence and giving children a skill they can enjoy for the rest of their lives.
We also believe parents play an important part in that journey. Celebrating progress and giving children opportunities to enjoy the water outside lessons can make a huge difference.
Above all, we want every child who swims with us to feel:
Safe. Confident. Proud. And excited about what they can achieve next.
If you're unsure which lesson would suit your child, that's completely fine.
Tell us a little about your swimmer, their experience and what you'd like them to achieve, and we'll help you decide where to start.
